There may be opportunities to hire fishing vessels and fishermen during the survey, construction, and operation activities of offshore wind farm projects. Examples include guard vessels for EIA surveys or installation and construction activities. Although this opportunity is a means to involve the fisheries more closely in offshore wind farm projects and brings some economic benefits, vessels will need to meet the relevant occupational safety and health standards and training requirements of offshore wind farm developers and operators.
